JACKSON -- Third-seed Perryville got a goal from Amanda Schumer in the final two minutes of its first-round District 1 contest with Notre Dame to prevail 2-1.

The victory marks the third time this season the Lady Pirates knocked off Notre Dame, which ends its season at 8-13-1.

"Perryville had beat us twice this season and we gave them everything they wanted," said Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley. "We had an outstanding effort today. It was a tough loss."

Notre Dame led 1-0 at halftime on a first-half score by Jennifer Glueck with an assist from Jaymie Frank.

Perryville's Stacey Baer knotted the game 20 minutes into the second half and Schumer provided the game winner near the end of the contest.

In an earlier district game, fifth-seed St. Pius beat No. 4 Poplar Bluff, advancing to today's 2:30 p.m. semifinal against top-seed Cape Central (18-0-1). Perryville meets second-seed Jackson (14-4-1) today in the other semifinal at 5 p.m.
