Week report: Kolwyck went 6-for-11 (.545) with five RBI's as Kelly completed an undefeated string of four games to improve to 6-1. The Hawks won the inaugural Quad-State Tournament in Anna (Ill.) with a pair of 4-0 wins in the round-robin tourney. Kolwyck had Kelly's only two hits in a win over Anna-Jonesboro. He also went 3-for-3 with four RBIs in a 14-4 win over Charleston on Thursday.

On the season: In just his second season of varsity baseball, Kolwyck is batting .471 (8-for-17) with a team-leading eight RBIs. Kolwyck's RBI total is even more impressive considering he bats anywhere from the sixth to ninth positions in the Hawks' explosive batting order. Last year he batted .297 and was a key contributor down the stretch in the Hawks' state-playoff run.

Coach's comments: "Brad's just a good, young baseball man. He has baseball in his blood. He plays a very good defensive outfield and has a natural instinct for judging a fly ball. Brad will be one the top players in the area for the next few years. He's got a good, quick bat."
