Mike Oslund added a 41 for Cape Central (6-1) while Jeff Haycraft carded a 43 and Josh Miller and Kent Phillips tied at 44.

Michael Cravens led New Madrid with a 41.

Cape Central returns to action Tuesday in a triangular meet at New Madrid.

Cape Central 8, Poplar Bluff 1

Cape Central improved to 6-2 with a victory over Poplar Bluff at home Thursday. Central's junior varsity swept all seven of its matches to improve to 4-2 on the year.

The Tigers go to Parkway West for a Saturday morning match.

Amber Voerg recorded her second hat-trick of the season and goalie Amy Harris her eighth shut out in Cape Central's home win Thursday.

Voerg scored two unassisted goals with Jennifer Daumy assisting on the third goal that made the score 3-0 at halftime. Amanda Heiler scored unassisted for the Lady Tigers to open the second-half scoring.

Kim Aslinger added Central's final goal, assisted by Spring Decramer. Central improved to 8-0-1.

The JV Lady Tigers also won, recording a 4-1 victory to improve their record to 4-1.

Katie Hawkins scored twice and Alyssa Holyfield had two assists. Mindy Hoffman and Rebecca Hellrich added the other Central goals.

Central meets Jackson today at Shawnee Park.
