CHAFFEE -- Chaffee standout catcher Brandi Foulk has signed a letter of intent to attend Florissant Valley Junior College on a softball scholarship.
Foulk, who has started all four years for the Lady Red Devils, has been making her final season a banner one. She's currently batting .600 with an on-base percentage of .842 for the 5-0 Lady Red Devils.
"She's started basically from Day 1," said Chaffee coach Mark Devenport. "She's contributed since she was a freshman."
Chaffee has compiled a 46-5 record during Foulk's four years.
She owns a .464 career batting average, including .510 as a junior.
Davenport said he thinks Foulk will be able to step in and help Florissant Valley next year.
"She's a solid defensive catcher," said Davenport. "She has a very good arm. Obviously she'll have an adjustment to that level of competition, but I feel she has the skills to make the transition."
"I know it's something she's wanted for a long time and she's worked hard for, and I'm thrilled for her," Davenport said.
