MARION, Ill. -- Tied 1-1 Wednesday with about 20 minutes left against Marion, Notre Dame's defense forced a Marion player to inadvertently kick the ball of a teammate into its own net for a 2-1 Lady Bulldogs victory.

Jaymie Frank scored Notre Dame's only other goal on an assist by Jill Edwards as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-8-1. Notre Dame trailed 1-0 at halftime.

Cindy Cox scored both of Notre Dame's JV goals in a 2-1 win.

Notre Dame and Cape Central meet today at Shawnee Park.

Jackson second in triangular

MALDEN -- Jackson placed behind Bernie for second place in the triangular match hosted by Malden on Wednesday.

Bernie won the event with a four-person score of 168. Jackson shot 175 and Malden 179.

Gabe Estes shot a 39 on the par-36 course to lead Jackson, which is now 8-6 on the season. Andy Kohl and Spencer Knowlan both carded 45's followed by Tom Henderson and Chris Pike shooting 46's.
