BRIEFS: PUREWATER 2000 TRIATHLON

The 9th annual Coors Purewater 2000 Triathlon will be held Sept. 19 at Trail of Tears State Park.

The race will consist of a half-mile swim, a 15-mile bike ride and 4-mile run. Awards will be presented in a variety of age groups.

Registration is $26 for an individual and $31 for a team. All participants must be triathlon federation members (one-day permits are $5). All entrants will receive race T-shirts and swim caps on entry.

Registration will be held 7:30-8:45 a.m. on the beach by Lake Boutin the day of the race. The triathlon will begin at 9.
