Week report:

Windeknecht scored a hat trick in three of his four games last week and now has nine goals on the season. He tallied three times in the Indians' season-opening 4-0 win over Cape Girardeau Central, and in the Notre Dame Soccerfest, he scored three goals in a 7-0 win over Sikeston and three more in a 5-1 win over Central. Jackson was 3-1 for the week and, after a 2-0 win over Poplar Bluff Tuesday, stands at 4-1 for the season.

Coach's comments:

"Nathan is just tremendously fast," Jackson coach Bonnie Knowlan said. "He's got the speed to get the ball down in the corner and bring it across to cut down the angle, and we've got the midfielders (Spencer Knowlan and Chris Kohm) to get him the ball. Right now, what we're seeing is there are very few defenders who can stay with him. They double and triple team him or trying to stop him with their best player."
