ST. LOUIS -- Kathy Michel has been a brutal adversary for batters in recent days.

Last week the Cape Girardeau Central High pitcher went 4-0 with three shutouts. That included a 1-hitter Saturday in the third-place game in the Jackson Invitational.

On Monday, Michel went one better. She tossed a no-hitter against Mehlville as Central won 4-1.

"She's really been on a roll for us," said Central coach Don Lang. "She was very concentrated today. She kept the ball down and our defense did the job behind her."

Michel, a senior, struck out just two batters. She walked one and hit one batter.

Central, which improved to 13-4, had eight hits from eight different players. Jennifer Daume's double was the Lady Tigers' key hit.
