It's probably getting to sound like a broken record, but Kathy Michel continued to dominate opposing batters Wednesday as Cape Girardeau Central High's softball team defeated visiting Hillsboro 3-1.
Michel has been the area's hottest pitcher recently and she was coming off a Monday no-hitter.
Wednesday, Michel raised her record to 12-3 by hurling a three-hitter. She struck out three and walked four. The only run Hillsboro scored was unearned.
"Kathy is having a great season and our whole team has been playing extremely well," said Central coach Don Lang, whose squad is now 15-4 and has won 13 of its last 14 games.
Amber Voerg had two of Central's six hits.
Central's JV is now 12-1 after a 10-0 win. Cassie Gross did the pitching and she also had three hits, as did Ashley Foutch.
