Season passes for Cape Girardeau Central High School's upcoming football season and season passes for Central's entire sports season are now available.

Football season passes are $10 apiece while all-sports complimentary passes are $40 each.

Passes can be purchased at the Central athletic director's office, or for more information, call 335-8467.

Jackson coed volleyball forming

The Jackson Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of forming a coed volleyball league for this fall.

Play will be held Monday nights beginning Oct. 5 at the First General Baptist Church in Jackson. The league will last 10 weeks. The league fee will be $60 per team.

Lion's Club charity golf tournament

The Sikeston Lion's Club will hold its 2nd annual Charity Golf Tournament Sept. 25 at the Bootheel Golf Club in Sikeston.

The two-person scramble will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Cost is $45 per person, which includes green fee and golf cart. Attendance and contest prizes will be awarded.

Cape youth football signups

One more signup for the 1998 Cape Girardeau Youth Tackle Football League season will be held Sept. 5 from 8 a.m.-noon at Capaha Park (corner of Perry and Broadway).

The cost of $65 per player includes supplemental insurance coverage, all equipment and a game jersey that players keep.

The league is for boys in grades 5-7. A player must be below 200 pounds to participate.

SEMO Youth Hockey signups

Signups for the SEMO Youth Hockey League will take place Sept. 26 from noon-2 p.m. and Oct. 3 from 2-4 p.m. at Plaza Galleria.

SEMO day at Busch Stadium

Southeast Missouri State University will have a special Labor Day celebration Sept. 7 when the Cardinals play the Cubs at Busch Stadium. Kohlfeld Distributing, River Eagle Distributing and Coca-Cola are the sponsors.

From 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., a barbecue style picnic and beverages for all alumni and friends of Southeast will be held at Sverdrup across from Busch Stadium.

Then it will be on to the 1:10 p.m. game, with terrace reserved seating next to the Mark McGwire Land section.

The cost is $14 per person, which includes the barbecue and ticket to the game.
