SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Corey Williams felt like he was healthy enough to see plenty of action last week against Tennessee State, but he only carried the football one time.

Saturday, however, Southeast Missouri State University's senior tailback was once again a major focal point of the Indians' offense as they took on Southwest Missouri State.

Williams, the Indians' leading rusher, who had missed two games with a dislocated elbow before playing very sparingly last week, scored his 10th touchdown of the season on a 73-yard pass from quarterback Bobby Brune. It was Southeast's only TD during a 45-10 loss.

Williams also carried the ball 11 times, but he netted just 18 yards as there wasn't a whole lot of room to run.

"I'm glad to be back out there a lot again," said Williams, who has 358 yards rushing on the season. "It felt pretty good to play last week. The elbow is still a little sore, but it doesn't really bother me that much."

Southeast had 282 total yards compared with 445 for SMS.

Brune completed 12 of 18 passes for 165 yards and the one TD. He was intercepted twice.

Backup quarterback Kevin Seto, who played late in the fourth quarter, was six-for-13 for 42 yards.

Dante Bryant caught five passes for 40 yards, while Mitch Fryer had three receptions for 39 yards.

The Indians managed just 75 yards rushing on 31 attempts.

The Indians will have their final home game next Saturday when Middle Tennessee comes to Cape Girardeau for Southeast's Homecoming contest.

Southeast basketball coach Gary Garner, who grew up in West Plains, which is about 100 miles from Springfield, attended Saturday's game.

The Indians have completed their first week of basketball practice, and Garner had some bad news to report about forward Demetrius Watson, a returning starter.

Watson suffered a concussion during a Thursday practice collision with walk-on guard Ryan Thomas. Garner said the concussion was serious, and Watson would miss from 10-14 days of practice, but he should ultimately be fine.

"It was really scary when it happened, because Demetrius was really out of it," Garner said.

Watson evidently took the brunt of the blow, because Garner said Thomas was fine.
