The Cape Girardeau Kohlfeld Scorpion Rugby Club will play its first home game of the season Saturday when the Sunday Morning Rugby Club from St. Louis visits.

Game time at Arena Park is set for 1 p.m. at Arena Park. The home field, on the west side of Arena Park off Hawthorne, features new 35-foot goalposts erected this week.

The Scorpions beat the Paducah (Ky.) Flood 12-0 last Saturday in a game marred by extremely muddy field conditions.

The Scorpions' first score came when Tim "Doc" Joplin took a quick trap on a penalty awarded to the team, then fed the ball to Matt Clark, who scored the try center post. Captain and inside center Bobby Meyer converted the try with a kick.

Kohlfeld scored next when Alan Kloss took the ball into the try zone for the Scorpions' 12th point.

All fans are welcome to watch the Scorpions play and potential players are welcome to practice Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at Arena Park.
