AREA SPORTS BRIEFS: UNIVERSAL OFFERS AND BASH

Universal Health & Fitness Center is offering a "Sand Bash '97" sand volleyball extravaganza that will include leagues and tournaments.

Real Rock 99.3 and Universal Health & Fitness are sponsoring the events, which feature a 6-on-6 league and a 4-on-4 league.

The 6-on-6 league will play on Tuesday nights starting June 3. The $98 entry fee includes a T-shirt for the first six on each time, 12 weeks of league play and a league-ending round-robin tournament.

The 4-on-4 league will play on Thursday nights starting June 5. The $98 entry fee includes a T-shirt for the first four on each team, 12 weeks of league play and a league-ending round-robin tournament.

Entry deadline for both leagues is May 30. For information, call Universal at 335-3355.
