SIKESTON -- Chesterfield defeated Festus 8-4 Sunday afternoon to capture the American Legion Zone 4 Tournament championship and earn a berth in this week's Missouri American Legion State Tournament.

Festus, which came all the way through the loser's bracket after losing to host Sikeston in Thursday's opening round, had forced Sunday's game by beating Chesterfield 7-4 Saturday night.

Earlier Saturday, Festus eliminated Sikeston 11-9 as Sikeston finished third in the five-team tourney.

Dunklin County and Anheuser-Busch each lost both of their games in the double-elimination event.
