Cape Central scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past St. Louis Notre Dame 2-1 and claim third place in the Cor Jesu Tournament Saturday.

After losing 11-7 to eventual tournament champion Cor Jesu in Friday's opener, Central bounced back with an 8-1 win over Rosary and 14-4 triumph over Lindbergh.

Kathy Michel picked up the win against Notre Dame, firing a five hitter and striking out three.

Central (3-2), which had 44 hits in the four games, was hitless entering the bottom of the seventh but put together three hits for the win. Courtney Haman tripled and scored on a Amber Voerg single. Voerg later came around on a two-out single by Ashley Voerg.

Against Lindbergh, Central broke a 6-6 tie with eight runs in the sixth inning. Jessica Keys picked up the win and Kim Aslinger notched the save. Courtney Haman, who finished the tournament 9-for-14 at the plate, had for four of Central's 18 hits. Amber Voerg finished the game with two hits and three RBIs and Amy Harris had three hits and two RBIs.

Michel threw a two-hitter in Friday's win over Rosary. Haman finished with three of Central's 10 hits.

In the loss to Cor Jesu, the Lady Tigers banged out 13 hits. Jennifer Daume led the way with a triple, homer and two RBIs.

Jackson also played in the tournament and finished with a 1-2 record, falling to Lutheran South 4-1 Saturday morning.

The Lady Indians fell to 1-3 on the season.

Amanda Bollinger hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to account for Jackson's lone run and one of its three hits.

Christy Teets suffered the loss on the mound, allowing five hits and walking three in seven innings.

Lutheran South scored two runs in the top of the first and single runs in the third and fourth innings for a 4-0 lead.
