"Clemente is one of the most sought-after players in the country," Hogan said. "He was on a select team I coached a few years ago and I kept up with his progress throughout his high school career. He was on the Showcase Team USA, the Junior Pan-American team and he has played in many international tournaments. He is a tremendous sign for our program."

The Indians also signed three junior-college pitchers: Thommy Thomas from Maplewood Community College in Kansas City; Danny Schiltz from Highland Community College in Kansas; and Greg Budt from Jefferson College in Hillsboro.

"These guys will step in and help the team immediately," Hogan said. "I feel like we had a very good signing period."
