HONOLULU -- Southeast Missouri's softball team fell to 1-3 in the University of Hawaii Softball Tournament with a 9-6 loss to the host.

Southeast (1-8-1) rallied from a 5-0 deficit with a six-run sixth inning, but saw Hawaii answer with four runs in the bottom of the inning.

The Othakians struck for five of their seven hits on the game in their six-run rally. The offensive included a solo home run by Leanne Gryncewicz.

Debbie Schmelz (1-3), the third Otahkian pitcher, suffered the loss. Schmelz gave up three hits in the sixth inning, which were compounded by a hit batsman and two Otahkian errors. All four runs in the inning were unearned.

Jenny Oermann had two of Southeast's seven hits.
