ST. LOUIS -- Southeast Missouri State University's softball team lost both games of a doubleheader here against Missouri Tuesday.

After losing the opener 4-0, Southeast lost a six-run lead in the nightcap and fell 10-7.

Southeast (22-17) totaled only three hits in the opener as Missouri's Barb Wright dominated.

Sara Reichert suffered the loss. She pitched all seven innings, allowing four earned runs on nine hits while striking out four and walking three.

After Southeast scored six runs in the third inning of the nightcap and took a 7-1 lead, Missouri scored two in the fifth and added seven in the seventh to win.

Missouri had five hits and took advantage of three walks in the crucial seventh inning.

Debbie Schmelz pitched seven innings and took the loss. She allowed five earned runs on eight hits.

Offensively, Jenny Oermann had two hits and Kendra Williams had two hits and two RBIs.

Southeast will play six OVC games this weekend in Clarksville, Tenn.
