PULASKI, Ill. -- There will be some new faces in Pulaski Village Hall this year.

Dean L. Rogan Sr., who is serving as interim mayor following the resignation of former mayor Jack Roberts, is unopposed in the mayoral race on the Pulaski ballot for the April 13 elections.

A total of four unexpired, two-year-term candidates are on the Pulaski ballot. They are:

-- Rogan for mayor.

-- Hazel M. Tolar, who resigned as city clerk and is running for an expired term for village trustee.

-- Ardis M. Ward, candidate for the unexpired term of village clerk.

-- Charles R. Jones, who is currently filling an unexpired term for treasurer and will be a candidate for treasurer.

In another Pulaski race, three candidates are running for three full, four-year terms as trustees.

Some Pulaski city officials resigned about midterm -- some because of conflicts of interest and others because of other interests.

Tolar, who is still helping out in the clerk's office, has no opposition for her new position as trustee.

Municipal and school board elections are also on the ballots throughout Pulaski County, although only one other mayor is scheduled for election this year. That is at Grand Chain, where Kent Dover is the only candidate to fill an unexpired term as Grand Chain mayor.

Beth Dover is the candidate for Grand Chain clerk and will fill an unexpired term.

In other municipal elections, aldermen will be elected at Mound City, Mounds and Olmsted.

School board members will be elected in three high school districts -- Meridian Unit 101 near Mounds, Century Unit 100 near Grand Chain and Egyptian Unit 5 between Olive Branch and Tamms.

Other school elections in the county include two trustees for the Shawnee Community College District and Regional Board of School trustees for Alexander, Johnson, Massac, Pulaski and Union counties.

Trustees will be elected at Ullin and Karnak.
