Bob Kuban and The In-Men, regular performers at Southeast Missouri State University events in the 1960s, will return to the university April 16 for a benefit performance on behalf of the Leroy Mason Scholarship Fund.

The university's Golden Eagles Marching Band became nationally known during Mason's tenure from the late 1950s to the mid 1970s, performing for NFL games, the inauguration of former Gov. Warren Hearnes, for a Pro Bowl game and for Super Bowl V.

Kuban, a St. Louis native, and his band had a Top 10 hit in 1966, "The Cheater." Last year they were among those honored in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's exhibit, "One Hit Wonders."

Since 1976, Kuban has operated the Bob Kuban Entertainment Agency.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Show Me Center. Attendees are encouraged to wear '60s-style dress.

Tickets are $15 and are available at Shivelbine's, Schnucks and Disc Jockey Records in Cape Girardeau and at the Style Shop and Super Styles in Jackson. Specially reserved tables are available also. For information, phone Vicki Abernathy at 243-0028.
