Julian Seeberman of St. Louis was named Friday to head the Missouri Gaming Commission following the resignation of Bob Wolfson of St. Louis.

Gov. Mel Carnahan announced Seeberman's appointment.

Wolfson served on the commission almost six years.

Seeherman, 69, retired as the chairman and CEO of Ventures Stores Inc. and heads his own retail consulting firm.

He was appointed as a member of the Missouri Gaming Commission in October 1997.
