MARBLE HILL -- Contested school board races are on Tuesday's election ballot in the Woodland and Meadow Heights school districts.

Incumbents Myra K. Underwood, Jo Ann Shrum and Gary L. Roberts are seeking re-election to three-year terms. They face a challenge from two other candidates -- Mark McCormick and Barry Arthur Booth.

In the Meadow Heights School District, five people are running for three seats on the board.

Incumbents Mike Reagan and Mike Welker are seeking re-election. Their names are on the ballot along with challengers Harold Mills and Scott Mayfield.

Board member Dennis Mouser also is seeking re-election, but his name isn't on the ballot. He is running as a write-in candidate.

Mouser said he is running because residents of the district asked him to run.

In the Leopold and Zalma school districts, there are no contested races.

At Leopold, John D. Broshuis, Dewayne Stroder and Gerald L. Jansen are running for the three seats on the board.

Rick Garner, Connie White and Tonya Brewer are on the ballot for the Zalma school board seats.

In Zalma, voters also will elected five people to one-year terms on the village board.

Six people are seeking the five seats. Georgia Cookemboo, Collette Wilfong, Dolores Jackson and Linda Pape are seeking re-election. Two other candidates -- Malinda Propst and Joan Vangennip -- also are running.

In Sedgewickville, Tammy Whaley and Lynn James are seeking the two seats on the village board.
