The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will teach area children about fishing during the annual "Youth Catch and Release Day."

The event will be held May 15 at Capaha Lagoon from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Children from age 1 to 12 can participate.

The Optimist Club will provide lunch after the fishing event.

Children can pre-register by calling 334-2859, or sign up on the day of the event.
