I want to thank Mrs. Alberta Hileman. She lives on Bloomfield Road, and she has been so kind to provide rides, flowers and food for people the neighborhood. She picks up after everyone and never asks for a thank you. I think she's a very special angel. She does so much for everyone and doesn't expect anything in return. As she puts it, when you offer something in return, I don't deal that way. She is an extreme work of kindness.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my sister for the gracious help she has been to me for the last year and a half. I'm on oxygen and she has virtually carried my tank for me every place I go. And I'd like to thank her publically.

The Humane Society of Southeast Missouri would like to thank Sheryl and Richard Draper for donating to the spay/neuter fund to spay a stray as a random act of kindness. They donated the money to spay a stray in honor of their daughter Krista who volunteered at the Humane Society last summer.

I wanted to report a couple of random acts of kindness. Someone told me this morning that his brother-in-law has had his head shaved. The reason for this is that my informant's wife is fighting breast cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy and is having her head shaved. Her brother has had his head shaved so he can better support her in her suffering.

I'd like to report a random act of kindness. Last night at around 9:20 p.m. my husband had an emergency situation and needed a car part. He called BART and even though Auto Tire and Parts had closed around 5 p.m., BART agreed to come back to the store and get Tom the car part that he needed. He then offered to come back to the store again if more parts were necessary. This is truly an act of kindness, and Tom Nelson thanks him so much.

I'd like to express my thanks and appreciation to Carlos Ratliff, Mary Beth and Betsy, and Roger Reed, the people that work in Ratliff accounting, I appreciate all the things they've done for me. A special thanks to my boss, Imogene Ratliff and Ellen Wills, who makes my days a lot easier than it could be. And also, a special thanks to Rick Schmidt and Sharon Schmidt.

Here's a thanks from a regular citizen to those guys who go out on the street to serve and protect my family and me. I appreciate what you do. I appreciate the harm that comes to you, and the risks that you take. Thank you.

My grandson has not had time to mow my lawn this week. So when I came home this evening from shopping, it was a nice surprise to see my lawn all mowed. My neighbor, Kim Bowers, had come over and mowed it. That was an act of kindness. Thanks a lot, Kim.
