Tip's Learning Trees was named "Business of the Year," during the 133rd annual Cairo, Ill., Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting, held recently at the Elks Lodge in Cairo.

Pat Brey, program director at the business, received a plaque from Jay Manus, president of the Cairo Chamber.

Jodell Wheeler, founder and chief executive of Tip's Learning Trees, addressed the chamber meeting. The Learning Tree was developed in 1991. The school is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and provides child care to about 100 children, ages 6 to 12.
