Spartech Corp. has entered into an agreement to acquire net assets of the Alltrista Plastic Packaging Division of Alltrista Corp., a manufacturer of extruded sheet & rollstock packaging materials, based in Muncie, Ind.

"We are enthusiastic about the prospect of adding Alltrista's food packaging operation, with annual sales near $30 million, to Spartech's extruded sheet and rollstock segment, increasing this group to 19 production facilities," said Spartech chairman, president and chief executive officer, Bradley B. Beuchler.

Spartech, headquartered at St. Louis, has 39 facilities, including two operations in Cape Girardeau -- Spartech Plastics at 2500 Spartech Drive and Spartech Compounding on Nash Road.
