The Southeast Missourian asked people about a bill in the Missouri House that would change the annual state vehicle inspections to every two years and the cost from $7 to $14.

Dale Seabaugh: "I think they should keep it the way it is. I think it keeps a lot of bad vehicles off the road."

Randy Ponder: "I think changing it to every two years would be fine. Doing it every year is just a little too much."

Kristi King: "I think it would be better have inspections every year. It is not that hard to do, and it can catch vehicles with safety problems."

Paul Berry: "I think they should leave it as it is. Everyone wants vehicles up to safety standards. It's better to keep a car up a little at a time than to have a big jump at one time."

Deborah Loenneke: "It should not be changed. I used to live in Kansas where they didn't have safety inspections, and you would have junk driving around. Maybe inspections should be done every six months!"
