Keith Hamm got out of a two-on, two-out spot in the seventh inning with a strikeout as Notre Dame beat Jackson 3-1 on Tuesday.
Hamm struck out six, allowed three hits and walked only one in seven innings. Chris Schlick suffered the loss.
Notre Dame scored runs in the first, second and sixth innings. Jackson got its run in the third.
The Bulldogs totaled five hits. John O'Rourke went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Wes Steele added an RBI.
Jackson's JV team won 7-4.
Windsor 12, St. Vincent 3
PERRYVILLE -- Windsor struck for seven runs in the second inning and cruised to victory over St. Vincent in Jefferson County Conference play Tuesday.
Windsor (8-1) collected six of its 10 hits in the second-inning outburst, which chased St. Vincent starter Bryan Meyer.
Freshman Derek Kutz pitched the final five innings for St. Vincent (5-4 overall, 2-3 conference) and allowed just four hits, including a three-run homer in the seventh.
Trent Sauer had two doubles and two RBIs in St. Vincent's six-hit attack.
Chaffee 8, Scott City 7
CHAFFEE -- Up one run in the Scott City seventh with runners on first and third and one out, Chaffee's Tommy Stidham coaxed a double play as the Red Devils held on for a win over the Rams on Tuesday.
Josh Hanlon went 6 1/3 innings and earned the win. Stidham got the save.
Chaffee scored two runs each in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings. Scott City scored three in the seventh before coming up short.
For Chaffee (3-3), J.P. Glueck went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in the third inning and Stidham was 2-for-3.
Tim Lowery had three hits for Scott City. Brandon Amick took the loss.
GIRLS SOCCER
Cape Central 5, Notre Dame 0
Amy Harris earned her seventh shutout in eight tries this season as Central beat Notre Dame on Tuesday.
After Lorie Bittle scored 29 minutes into the match on an assist from Jennifer Daume, the Lady Tigers (7-0-1) exploded for four goals in the second half.
Amanda Hiler, Rachel Hessenkemper, Mindy Hoffman and Kim Aslinger each had goals. Amber Voerg, Hiler, Bittle and Melissa Altenthal each picked up assists.

Central sweeps
ANNA, Ill. -- Cape Central's boys and girls each won the Anna-Jonesboro Invitational on Tuesday.
Central's boys had 78 points, Massac County 73 and Anna-Jonesboro 19. The Tigers' Chris Allen won both the long jump and the triple jump.
The Lady Tigers totaled 116 points, Anna-Jonesboro 56, Vienna 32 and Massac County 25. Freshman Heather Jenkins won both the shot put and the discus.

Scott City 12, St. Vincent 8
SCOTT CITY -- Jessica Dees went 3-for-3 and Amy Heisserer added two hits as Scott City beat St. Vincent and improved to 3-1 on Tuesday.
Amy O'Brien earned the win in relief.
Leopold 11, Oran 9
ORAN -- Leopold scored four runs in the first inning Tuesday against Oran and remained unbeaten.
Leopold (4-0) enjoyed another four-run inning in the fifth when it extended its lead to 10-3. The Lady Wildcats then held on as Oran scored six runs in its final three at-bats.
Nikki Seiler had two of Leopold's five hits and two RBIs. Sarah Gowen added a double and two RBIs.
Lisa Peters went the distance on the mound, allowing nine hits.

Central improved to 5-2 with its easy win over visiting Dexter on Tuesday.
Central's JV also won 8-1 and moved to 3-2.

Central teams place 2nd
Cape Central's 8th-grade boys and 8th-grade girls each placed second in a meet Tuesday.
In the boys meet, North County had 80 points, Central 68, Farmington 58 and Fredericktown 20. Central's Jordan White won both the 200 and 400 and Kevin Allen won the long jump.
In the girls meet, North County totaled 120 points, Central 76, Farmington 34, Jackson 31 and Fredericktown 30. Terra Herzberger won both the shot put and discus, Kim Pancoast won the 1600 and Sylvia Austin, Micah Conrad, Lauren Lee and Cassie Frazier teamed to win the 400 relay.
