NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO SEMO's FOUNDATION BOARD

Five new members have been appointed to the board of directors of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation.

They are Skip Smallwood and Melvin Van de Ven of Cape Girardeau, Paul Copeland of Union, James Gleason of Sikeston and Gerald Jones of Jackson. Their terms run through the fall of 2000.

They are all graduates of Southeast Missouri State University.

Smallwood, a Southeast graduate is community development executive with Ameren Services.

Van De Ven, a Southeast alumnus, is a certified public accountant in Cape Girardeau.

Copeland, a Southeast graduate and former basketball player at the school, is a retired principal.

Gleason is president and chief operating officer of Galaxy Cablevision in Sikeston.

Jones is Cape Girardeau County's presiding commissioner. He also is president and owner of The Cash-Book Journal newspaper in Jackson.

Bill Burch of Sikeston, Secretary of State Bekki Cook and E. Gene Greable of Winnetka, Ill., were reappointed to the board. Their terms also run through the fall of 2000.

Otto and Della Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau were named honorary members of the board. Six others were20appointed emeritus members.

Those named emeritus members were Virgil Chirnside, Cord Dombrowski, Narvol Randol Sr. and Judy Wilferth of Cape Girardeau; Ken Hastings of McGill, Nev.; and Thomas Wood of Charlotte, N.C. Wilferth and Wood are former board chairmen.
