Folk singer Tom May returns to Cape Girardeau Monday for a 7 p.m. concert at Dempster Hall.
The host of the weekly national radio program "River City Folk," May entertains with original songs and stories to guitar accompaniment and the occasional Irish pennywhistle.
May played a free concert at Port Cape last spring. The concert was presented by public radio station KRCU as a thank-you to listeners. This concert will be in Glenn Auditorium.
He has played throughout the U.S. as well as Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany and Belgium. The Nebraska-based singer also has performed with the Omaha Symphony.
His broadcasts are heard on more than 200 stations, including KRCU. The program airs locally at 8 p.m. Saturdays.
May's performance is one of three in KRCU's Folk Music Series. Upcoming are concerts by autoharpist Bryan Bowers on May 12 and folk singer Bill Staines May 28.
