-- Approved a contractual agreement with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce for services provided.

-- Approved a Deferred Compensation Plan for city employees and authorizing the mayor to sign necessary agreements to implement plan.

-- Approved a contractual agreement with the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri for services provided relative to housing and disposition of stray animals.

-- Authorized an amendatory agreement with Southwestern Power Administration relative to the electronic scheduling of power purchases.

-- Authorized a contractual agreement with Horner & Shifrin, Inc., relative to the Inflow and Infiltration Study of the City Sanitation Sewer System and other sanitary sewer engineering services as needed.

-- Approved Pay Request #1 to Flynn Drilling Co., Inc., in the amount of $129,400 for the new West Water Well.

Street Committee

-- Approved a special use permit for the operation of a nursery or greenhouse in an R-2 District at 1517 W. Jackson Blvd as requested by Mr. and Mrs. David Miller.

-- Amended the Speed Limit Schedule on White Oak Street between Morton Street and Litz Park and on Howard Street between Morton Street and Litz Park by reducing the limit to 10 mph.

-- Accepted dedication of easements from William D. Francis, Keith E. Haynes and Bernice B. Haynes and Litz Brothers Inc. relative to the East Main Street Extension Project.

-- Amended the Stop Street Schedule to include certain stop street designations.

-- Authorized the city to make application for an additional police officer under the COPS Universal Hiring Program Grant.

-- Authorized the closure of Wedge Lane between Birdie Lane and Eagle Drive for a neighborhood block party from 5-10 p.m. June 27.

-- Authorized the advertisement of bids for the improvement of East Main Street.

-- Accepted the bid of Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc., in the amount of $236,361.00 for the purchase of a 1998 HME P-2 Custom Chassis, 750 water tank Fire/Rescue Engine.

-- Authorized a contractual agreement with Battalion Three, Inc. for the purchase of a 1998 HME P-2 Custom Chassis, 750 water tank Fire/Rescue Engine.

-- Accepted the bid of Battalion Three, Inc., of Arnold in the amount of $78,677.00 and authorizing purchase of said Loose Equipment for the 1998 HME P-2 Custom Chassis Fire/Rescue Engine.
