The Southeast Missourian asked people to share their memories of Homecomers.

Alberta Primm: "I remember going there with my daughter, Mary, and listening to the band play in the bandstand."

Hadley Hartman: "Back in late 1930s, there were some high trapeze acts on the courthouse lawn. Once I played my accordion in the talent contest."

Thelma Garland: "One time my son, Billy, rode a donkey at Homecomers. A few years later he bought that same donkey. It's name was Old Trigger."

Norma Corse: "Back about 1935, a fellow parachuted out of a plane over the courthouse in the afternoon at Homecomers. My uncle sold snow cones for a nickel."

Dorothy Willer: "About 1920, I was going back home to Cape from Homecomers with my father in a touring car. My pretty little hat blew off and I lost it. I was about 4."
