Southeast Missouri State University will sponsor an Early Childhood-School-Age Child Care Conference Sept. 26.

Featured speaker will be Bev Bos, director and teacher at Roseville Community Preschool in Roseville, Calif., for 32 years. She is the author of three books on creativity for young children: "Don't Move the Muffin Tins," "Before the Basics" and "Together We're Better."

Bos lectures on creative art, music and language; self-esteem; and helping children learn how to socialize naturally.

She has appeared on National Public Radio, been a childhood expert on local television in Sacramento, Calif., and has been featured on ABC News' "20/20."

Bos is the mother of five grown children and 13 grandchildren.

The conference will be held at Robert A. Dempster Hall's Glenn Auditorium. Two workshops are scheduled.

Session I, titled "Expanding your Horizons," will run from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. It is a personal growth workshop for parents and educators who are interested in examining how their work with children is affected by their own childhood, self-awareness and self-actualization.

Session II, titled "Creativity for Young Children," will run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. In it, attendees will learn how to establish classroom environments emphasizing creative art, music, science and language.
