PLANS GEARING UP FOR HEART WALK
About 200 people from Cape Girardeau County are expected to participate in the American Heart Walk Oct. 3. The walk starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Jackson Park. "American Heart Walk is a fund-raising event that benefits the American Heart Association's research support and educational and community service programs," said Nancy Southwick, chairman of the board of the American Heart Associations Cape Girardeau division.
The American Heart Association is honoring all walk participants who have survived heart disease or stroke by awarding a red cap.
Participants collect donations for walking the course.
