The Cape Girardeau Central High School Marching Tigers performed in two band competitions Saturday.
Bandsmen attended the Francis Howell Marching invitational in the morning and received the third-place trophy in the silver division.
In the afternoon, they competed in the 13th annual Rebel Invitational at Park Hills. The Marching Tigers got first place in the blue division. In addition, the band was awarded trophies for Outstanding Musical Performance and Outstanding Marching Performance. They also earned the 1998 Sweepstakes Trophy, awarded to the outstanding band of the competition.
This is the second year in a row the band won the divisional first place and the Sweepstakes Trophy at Park Hills.
The Marching Tigers travel to Springfield, Mo., Saturday to compete in the Ozarks Invitational at Southwest Missouri State University Stadium.
