The Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) is accepting applications for its 19th annual summer program.

TIP is a nonprofit educational organization designed to identify and develop the academic talent of bright students. To apply, students must be in the seventh grade, attend school in the region and have scored in the upper 3 percent on sections of a national achievement test. Applications are due by Nov. 2.

Qualified fourth and fifth grade students can apply for the Motivation for Academic Performance (MAP) program. It provides younger students with information on educational resources. To qualify for MAP, students must achieve at or above the 95th percentile on a national achievement or aptitude test.

MAP information will be mailed to schools in January with an early March registration deadline.
