The Alzheimer's Association of St. Louis will present "Ethical Considerations and Alzheimer's Disease" at a free educational program from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 5, at Southeast Missouri State University in the University Center Ballroom.

The program will explore ethical issues families and professionals face during the progression of Alzheimer's disease and give insight into the difficult decisions that accompany Alzheimer's disease. Issues include views on how our society views death and dying, when to tell someone about an AD diagnosis, when to prolong life through medical intervention and ethical concerns about genetic testing. The featured speaker is Stephen G. Post, Ph.D., associate professor at the Center for Biomedical Ethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
