LEARNING: TARGE OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP

Almost $4 million is available nationwide in the name of education through the Take Charge of Education scholarship.

Teachers continuing their education may apply for the Target Teacher Scholarship. Each Target store will award two $500 scholarships and 82 scholarships valued at $1,500 will be given away nationally.

Awards totalling $1 million will be given to schools based on parental and community involvement, creative fund raising activities and need. One thousand $1,000 Outstanding Schools awards will be given nationally.

The Target All-Around Scholarship will be awarded to well-rounded high school seniors who are committed to community service, education and family involvement. Applicants could earn one of four $10,000 scholarships or one of more than 1,500 scholarships valued at $1,000 each.

The deadline for each award is Nov. 1. Applications are available at any Target store.
