Craig E. Wells has joined Bank of Missouri, 1622 N. Kingshighway, as vice president of the Cape Girardeau office.

Wells, who has more than 23 years of banking experience, most recently served as community bank president of Mercantile Bank of Southeast Missouri at Cape Girardeau.

His appointment was announced by Douglas Watson, community bank president of Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau.

The Bank of Missouri, headquartered at Perryville, is 106 years old.

Paul Simon, director of the Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, has received an Order of Lincoln Medallion from Gov. Jim Edgar.

Edgar presented medallions to six Illinoisans who have excelled in government, business, the arts and literature during a special ceremony held Saturday night in the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago.

The six will become Laureates of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois, the highest honor the state can bestow on people who were born or live in Illinois.

Simon, a former newspaper editor, is an author who has served as U.S. Senator, congressman, lieutenant governor and state representative.

The Lincoln Academy was established 32 years ago. Past honorees have included Ronald Reagan, Ann Landers, Charlton Heston and Jack Benny.

Mary Ryner has received the "Employee of the Year Award" at Andrews Chiropractic.

Ryner has served as clinic administrator at the business four years.

Betty Lou Vogel and Don Vogel have joined Prudential Bridgeport Inc. Realtors, 109 S. Broadview.

Betty Lou Vogel has been broker-manager of Capitol Hill Realty the past three years. She has also been broker-manager and broker-owner of other real-estate firms in Cape Girardeau during the past 23 years. She also served as a real-estate loan officer with First National Bank.

Don Vogel, who has been with Capitol Hill Realty for three years, has more than 25 years in marketing and sales management experience, with extensive background in marketing, product development, sales and sales training.

Tina Trickey has joined The O'Haira's Styling Salon, 1001 Independence, as a full-time designer.

Trickey, a native of Cape Girardeau, has more than 25 years in the cosmetology industry. She has certification as a design specialist and has served as salon director and master hair colorist for a large salon in the Northwest for the past 10 years.

She was instrumental in the development of new products for a major manufacturer and adviser for education development in the field of cosmetology.

Bill King, Paul Kirn and Rodney Carlson have received promotions at Dana Corp.'s Spicer Axle Division in Cape Girardeau.

King was promoted to indirect services coordinator. He started with the company in February 1990 as a cell technician in Department 500. He was promoted to the cutter grind department in 1994.

Kirn was promoted to tool and machining technician. He started with Dana in 1992 as a cell technician in Department 500. He was moved to Department 700 as a cell technician in 1997.

Carlson has been promoted to level III maintenance technician. He started with Dana in 1977 as a level I maintenance technician.

Benny Carter and Cordell McGoy have been honored for service with the Illinois Department of Corrections.

McGoy of Cairo, who started his career with the department at the Vienna Correctional Center in 1972, was recognized for 25 years of service. He was promoted to sergeant in 1974 and to captain in 1995. He transferred to the Tamms Correctional Center in June 1995, where he is responsible for maintaining custody and control of inmates and supervision of security staff. He also monitors safety and sanitation at the facility.

Carter of East Cape Girardeau was honored for 20 years of service. He joined the department at Menard Correctional Center at Chester in 1976 as a correctional officer. He transferred to the Tamms Correctional Center in 1995. He was promoted to Corrections Supply Supervisor I in 1996, and to Correctional Supply Supervision II in December.
