BUSINESS MEMO: PATRIOT BUYS HERITAGE HOMES

SIKESTON -- Patriot Homes Inc. of Elkhart, Ind., has announced the acquisition of 50 percent interest in Heritage American Homes, L.P. in Sikeston, which was previously owned by Holigan Homes and its affiliates.

"Patriot Homes now owns Heritage American Homes and has complete control over its operations," said Samuel V. Weidner, president of Patriot. "There will be no changes at Heritage."

Heritage American Homes produces all-drywall sectional HUD homes and BOCA modular homes, ranging in size from 1,000 to 2,000 square feet. The facility in Sikeston is a 125,000-square-foot building at 821 W. Wakefield. It employs more than 140 people.

The management team at Heritage includes Jerry Forthofer, general manager; Mike DeMinico, regional sales manager; and Joey Schmidt, production manager.
