Linda Hopen Shelton has joined Coldwell Banker Hamilton Realty as a sales associate.

Shelton attended Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau and received training from Sheffield School of Interior Design, and the Independent Career Institute's Real Estate License Training Course.

Her experience includes public relations, medical and legal office coordination, and newspaper copy editor.

Jim Crain, pharmacist and owner of The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, 864 N. Kingshighway, has received the 1997 Medicine Shoppe Community Service Award.

Crain earned the award for participating in a variety of health-care screening and wellness programs throughout the year, such as blood-pressure checks, body fitness evaluations and foot clinics. These programs educate the public about wellness issues.
