BUSINESS MEMO: NORANDA HONORS 'CARRIER'

Noranda Aluminum Inc. of New Madrid, has presented its annual Quality Through Improved Performance "Carrier of the Year" award to a Jackson, Tenn., trucking company.

J.T. Express Inc. received the award last week during a ceremony at Noranda's New Madrid facility.

Noranda produces and ships more than 450 million pounds of primary aluminum products to destinations throughout the Midwest and Mexico. Ninety-five percent of Noranda products are moved by the trucking industry.

J.T. Express is one of more than 20 truckload carriers who serve Noranda Aluminum.

The award is based on a number of performance guidelines, including on-time delivery and pickup, load turndowns and acceptance, driver professionalism, and customer service.
