Red Letter Communications Inc. of Cape Girardeau, The Wright Group of Fredericktown and St. Francis Medical Center of Cape Girardeau were big winners of Addy awards Wednesday night by the Advertising Federation of Southeast Missouri. The three firms captured a combined 27 of the 52 awards.

Red Letter Communications captured 10 awards, including the coveted Best of Show. The Wright Group was winner of nine awards, and St. Francis collected eight plagues.

Red Letter's Best of Show award came for a Cyber Impact Web Site, designed by Jeff Vandeven.

Other winners during the awards banquet included Southeast Missouri Hospital with five awards; Concord Printing Services, Horizon Design Team and KFVS, each received four awards; WTAO-FM Radio of Murphysboro, Ill., received three awards; Southeast Missouri State University and WPSD-TV of Paducah, Ky., each received two awards; and Fox 23-KBSI received one award.

The ADDY awards are the industry's largest and most representative competition for creative excellence.

Wednesday's awards banquet at the Show Me Center was the third. The first year, 32 awards were presented, and last year 66 awards were presented.

Some of the winning entries will be forwarded for judging to the 10th District of the American Advertising Federation. The district includes Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Winning entries at the district competition will be eligible for the national ADDY awards program.
