HARRY REDIGER APPOINTED ST. FRANCIS BOARD CHAIRMAN

Harry Rediger has been appointed chairman of St. Francis Medical Center's board of directors. He will replace Bob Hendrix July 1. Hendrix will remain on the board.

Two other Cape Girardeans, Judy Wilferth and Joe Gambill were named board members, expanding the board to 14.

according to Jim Sexton, President and CEO of Saint Francis who also serves on the Board.

Other members include vice-chairman, Dennis Marchi; secretary, Jim Lansmon; treasurer, Doug Groesbeck; past chairman, Gene Huckstep; and Kenneth Hayden, Clyde Nenninger, L.R. "Mickey" Roper, Dr. Stanley Sides, and Dr. Michael Trueblood.

Rediger moved here in 1977 from Dallas, Texas, where he was with Penney's southwestern regional office. He took over as store manager of the local J.C. Penney's store that year. He has since been actively involved in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees.

The new chairman has served on the Saint Francis Board since May 1990. He and his wife, Fran, are members of Centenary United Methodist Church. They have four children and five grandchildren.

Wilferth owns and manages The Crossroads, a professional and retail shopping center. She is founder and CEO of Children's Bazaar and Sandy's. She has served the community in many ways, including leading the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce board in 1985 as chairperson.

Wilferth is married to F.R. "Rock" Wilferth, president of United Oil Co. and Horton Sales Co. They have four children and three grandchildren and are members of LaCroix United Methodist Church.

Gambill came to Cape Girardeau in 1971, and served as plant manager of Marquette Cement Manufacturing Co. He was plant manager of Biokyowa until his retirement in 1993.

Gambill was elected Cape Girardeau County commissioner and served from 1991 until 1994. He has served on numerous community committees and boards, is a member of Lions Club and served a two-year term on the Cape Girardeau Area Industrial Recruitment Association .

Gambill and his wife, Rosemary, are members of St. Vincent's Church and have five children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
