The used-car market in Cape Girardeau just got bigger.

Bud Shell's Auto World officially opened Monday in Cape West Business Park, 411 Siemers.

"We have about 130 cars on hand and hope to have more than 200 on the lot by the weekend," said Robert Shell, who owns and operates Bud Shell Ford in Dexter. Shell's is one of the largest dealerships between the St. Louis and Memphis metropolitan areas.

"We have all types of pre-owned cars," he said.

The new company will specialize in pre-owned Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.

The new business, alongside Interstate 55, includes a 3,000-square-foot showroom and facility for up to 200 cars, Shell said.
