The Southeast Missourian asked people what they like about Homecomers.

Loretta Fluegge: "It's meeting and visiting with people who you haven't seen for quite a while. Also, you have to go to some place like that to get a funnel cake. I like the municipal band concert."

Donna Barks: "I enjoy seeing all the people we know. That's the original meaning of homecoming. You get to see all the friends you haven't made time to see. You have to have home-made ice cream or it's not complete."

Bill Sullivan: "You certainly see a lot of people you don't see very often, and probably would not see otherwise. It's a real enjoyable experience especially for this size of community. You're always looking around the crowd for someone you know."

Tracey Heisserer: "I like to just get out with the people of Jackson and have a good time. You get the kids out of the house and have something fun to do, like the games and rides. We'll probably go more than once."

James Hitt: "It's a good place to get the community together. You can go any night and they're all just as good. I usually go with friends, and we visit there. I like the funnel cakes and taffy.
