The Southeast Missourian asked students at St. Paul Lutheran School about starting a new school year.

Rachel Lowes: "I'm glad to be back to school, because I missed all my friends over the summer. I'm in fifth grade, and I am looking forward to science. I want to be an astronaut, and I like all the planets."

Casey Schneider: "I'm glad to be back because I like being with my friends. I want to play on the basketball team this year. I like spelling, and also math because it's a challenge."

Travis Sievers: "I like school especially art and recess. I like coloring and cutting out things. I also like studying and doing homework. I missed my friends over the summer, so it's good to be back."

Chad Huber: "I am looking forward to learning more about the world and the universe. I especially like reading. In math we will get to do more challenging things."

Linsie Locklear: "I'm glad to be back in school, because I was getting a little sick of summer. I am in third grade this year, and I like reading and art. I also like math and working with numbers."
