Henry "Butch" Holyfield Jr. has joined Commerce Bank as an associate in the commercial and real estate loan departments.

Holyfield, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting, has more than 10 years of experience in banking. He previously worked at Union Planters Bank and Boatmen's Bank.

He is a member of the Cape County Board of Realtors and the SEMO Home Builders Association.,

Karlin S. Bohnert of Oak Ridge has been appointed officer of property and casualty systems architecture for Nationwide Insurance Enterprise in Columbus, Ohio.

Bohnert joined the company after seven years as strategy manager/director at Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Ark. She also previously served as vice president at Prudential Mortgage from 1987-1990.

Bohnert, a native of Cape Girardeau, served nine yeas in the U.S. Navy following graduation from Oak Ridge High School. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in journalism. She lives in Westerville, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus.

Jodi Montgomery has joined Eugene's Hair Salon, Kingshighway and Independence.

Montgomery of Cape Girardeau has more than 17 years of experience in the beauty industry and is a graduate of a St. Louis area beauty school.

She previously worked at the JCPenney's Hair Salon.

She is a former member of the Missouri Education Design Committee, the National Cosmetology Association and the "Look Good, Feel Better" program of the American Cancer Association.

Capt. Mike Rodgers of Cape Girardeau, a vessel captain for Canal Barge Company Inc., of New Orleans, has been honored for safety training and performance standards by America's maritime transportation industry.

Rodgers received the Jones F. Devlin Award, for serving as a towboat captain that has operated two years without a lost-time accident.

Rodgers received the award from the U.S. Chamber of Shipping during a special awards ceremony in New Orleans, captains the M/V Hamilton, on routes throughout the U.S. inland waterway systems.

Rodgers has been employed at Canal Barge Co. since 1971.

Ron Burgett, Park Ranger I at Trail of Tears State Park, has been recognized as an outstanding employee by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources Division of State Parks.

Burgett received the division's "Masterpiece Award" for law enforcement.

Burgett was cited for arresting several suspects involved in setting up a portable methamphetamine lab, and twice last year, he stopped drugs from being brought into the park.

Bruce Dockins of McCombs Funeral Home Inc. has joined the National Funeral Directors Association.

As a member, Dockins will attend NFDA-sponsored professional seminars on business practices and management, community relations, legislative issues and ethics.

NFDA, headquartered in Milwaukee. was founded in 1882.

NFDA, one of the largest funeral service organizations in the world, works to enhance the funeral service profession and promote quality service to the consumer.

Kevin R. Ham has joined the staff at Lucy Lee Healthcare System in Poplar Bluff.

Ham is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and UM-Columbia School of Medicine.

Ham's otolaryngology practice, Ozark Ear, Nose and Throat Associates, is at 2400 Lucy Lee Parkway, Suite C in Poplar Bluff.

Lucy Lee Healthcare System is a member of Tenet Health System, which provides health care services throughout the U.S.
