The Bootheel Irrigation Conference and Trade Show will be held at the Ramada Inn in Sikeston, Dec. 11.

The conference will focus on practical solutions for making irrigation more profitable for area farmers, said Joe Henggeler, irrigation specialist at the University of Missouri Delta Center, Portageville.

Registration will be at 7 a.m. at the Ramada Inn, with the program to start at 8;15.

Among speakers at the one-day event will be Gene Stevens, Delta Center crops specialists; Jim Thomas of Mississippi State University; Phil Tacker, Arkansas University Research Center; John Hester, Natural Resources Conservation Service engineer; and MU agricultural engineers Allen Thompson and Van Ayers.

A hands-on session with irrigation equipment representatives will be held about 1:30 p.m.
