Gerlach Brothers Homebuilders is also doing business as Custom Design Homes.

Dave and Sid Gerlach have purchased Custom Design Homes, 1409 N. Mount Auburn Road. Included in the purchase was the dealership for Wausau Homes.

Wausau Homes, headquartered at Wausau, Wis., manufactures panelized, custom-built, single-family homes, multi-family homes and motel units.

Wassau Homes has provided homes for more than 100,000 families since it was founded in 1960 -- an average of more than 2,800 a year. The company uses a wide variety of plans, options and exterior designs in building ranch style, bi-level and tri-level homes.

Buyers can also custom-design a home with the features offered by Wausau.

Wausau's main manufacturing plant is at Wausau, but other plants are in Charleston, Ill., Etna Green, Ind., Paudling and Waverly, Ohio, and Lake Wales, Fla.

The Wausau system, said Sid Gerlach, is ideal for the potential home buyer whose busy schedule limits the amount of time available for selecting plans, reviewing bids and selecting finishes for the exterior and interior of a new home.

"The one-stop, Wausau concept allows this to be done and a response provided in a matter of days," said Gerlach.

The Custom Design Homes showroom will remain at 1409 N. Mount Auburn Road.
